Digital Agenda: Tuesday, 10 February 2015

Common Core Standards:

PE HS1.2.3 Meet health-related physical fitness standards established by a scientifically based health-related fitness assessment.
PE HS1.2.4 Use physical fitness test results to set and adjust goals to improve fitness.

Learning Objectives:

    1. recall and recognize testing protocols for the physical fitness tests (DOK 1)
    2. perform and collect data from the physical fitness tests (DOK 2)
    3. analyze and compare their results to see if they meet the health-related physical fitness standards (DOK 3)
    4. use physical fitness test results to make adjustments to previous goal(s) (DOK 1)
    5. create an individualized plan to work at maintaining or improving their fitness (DOK 4)

    Lesson Activities w/Time Frames:


    • Do Now 25.1 (10 min)
        • Look on left side of the screen for "Upcoming Assignments" and click on the assignment due today titled "Fitness Personal Best Data Sheet."
        • Follow the instruction for assignment, and input your scores from previous assessments.
      • Review assessments form breaks
      • Form groups
      • Perform assessments
    • Data Collection and Reflection
      • Use the form in Google Classroom to record your data that you collected today.

        • If you finish early, take a moment to review the assessments. It’s been a long 3 weeks, so you may have forgotten some things. Share with someone in class some questions you may have.

      Lesson Activities + (time frame)
      • Fitness ASAP (10 minutes) - Choose one of the Fitness ASAP to do for your warm up. Use the timer on your iPad to keep track of your time.
      • Fitness Personal Best Day (60 minutes)
        • Today is a Fitness Personal Best. The object is to evaluate your current fitness level and set personal goals for maintaining or improving it.
        • Form groups of 2-3 people. Go to a station, then complete the assigned task (see Fitness Personal Best Day). Information about how to do each task can be found at the link above. You’re allowed 1 practice trial (except for PACER) before performing for a score. After your group has completed a station, move to a new open together. Don't interfere with other groups while moving station to station.
        • Record your results in a note or google document
        • Remember
          • “Be honest” – Scores need to be accurate so you can set meaningful goals.
          • “Be careful” – Watch for others and keep the space safe.
          • “Be encouraging” – Do your best and support others as they do the same.
          • “Be helpful” – Help your group-mates by keeping scores or time.
      • Once you have completed your assessments and have set your goals for improvement, compare your results with the physical fitness standards and write a brief reflection for each at the Fitness Personal Best Reflection
