- Self-Assess Fitness levels in several areas of health-related fitness
- Set personal fitness goals for several areas of health-related fitness
Lesson Activities + (time frame)
- Fitness ASAP (10 minutes) - Choose one of the Fitness ASAP to do for your warm up. Use the timer on your iPad to keep track of your time.
- Fitness Personal Best Day (60 minutes)
- Today is a Fitness Personal Best. The object is to evaluate your current fitness level and set personal goals for maintaining or improving it.
- Form groups of 2-3 people. Go to a station, then complete the assigned task (see Fitness Personal Best Day). Information about how to do each task can be found at the link above. You’re allowed 1 practice trial (except for PACER) before performing for a score. After your group has completed a station, move to a new open together. Don't interfere with other groups while moving station to station.
- Record your results in a note or google document
- Remember
- “Be honest” – Scores need to be accurate so you can set meaningful goals.
- “Be careful” – Watch for others and keep the space safe.
- “Be encouraging” – Do your best and support others as they do the same.
- “Be helpful” – Help your group-mates by keeping scores or time.
- Once you have completed your assessments and have set your goals for improvement, compare your results with the physical fitness standards and write a brief reflection for each at the Fitness Personal Best Reflection
